The Back to School mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies to children in need. We brought free school supplies to 600 children covering 3 community schools in the less privileged communities of Karamoja, and these supplies included Books, Pens, Pencils, Mathematical sets, Sanitary pads for teenage girls, chalkboards, Manila papers etc.Last year alone we delivered free school supplies to 1200 beneficiaries through Motherly Heart Foundation back to school education program. We also donate teaching materials to the schools. Read More about this program.
In Uganda, Menstrual health faces significant challenges due to widespread cultural taboos surrounding menstruation as evidenced in Karamoja and other parts of eastern Uganda leading to limited or no access to sanitary materials, inadequate sanitation facilities and lack of knowledge about menstrual hygiene, often hindering girls education and overall wellbeing. Motherly Heart Foundation embarked to help tackle the issues surrounding Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) in schools following the report from the ministry of education and sports that recommended WASH program to address the needs of girls.
