Climate change poses a significant threat to Uganda’s agriculture and water resources. Our foundation advocates for sustainable environmental practices, community awareness programs, and resilience-building strategies to help communities adapt to changing climatic conditions and protect their natural resources.
Motherly heart foundation drawing responses from 70 interviews with young people in Uganda found that lower education aligned with misunderstanding the causes of climate change. Therefore we boost climate change education in primary schools. These children are exposed to the negative consequences of climate change therefore understanding the causes and how to control them will help to equip them for the present and the future. We have aligned programs for Kasese, Kiryandongo and Karamoja regions in Uganda. We chose primary primary level because it creates the opportunity to provide a better foundation for climate change education at the higher institutions in Uganda. We also engage schools in activities like Inter-school climate change debating competitions which attract public audience hence extending awareness of climate change.
